To Help You Pray

Sit or kneel quietly for a few moments; let the bustle and worries of life fall away from you and let the peace of the stillness and the presence of God overshadow you.

You are God’s child; God loves you;
He created you; He longs for you.

He is here with you now and will be with you always.
Speak to him slowly and thoughtfully.

Say this prayer to concentrate your mind with God

Lord, overshadow me with your spirit. Banish distraction, inattention, coldness and concern. Make my eyes to see, my ears to hear, my tongue to speak, my soul to be still. And then, Lord, in your mercy, hear my prayer and give me your peace through Jesus Christ. Amen.

For breaking your laws

Lord, humbly and sincerely I ask for your forgiveness in the knowledge that in Jesus you have reached out and called me to yourself with love and forgiveness. Amen.

Lord, calm my fears and strengthen my heart that I may know that you are always there to help and turn to. Amen.
