Heritage
Guide Training – Volunteers - Actors
NEWS FLASH – NEW OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER AND SHARE
Dewsbury Minster, with 1400 years of living heritage, urgently
requires good communicators, of any faith or of none, to share
their passion for history. We hope to recruit volunteers
on an inspiring introductory tour, laced with human-interest.
Anyone volunteering will be given training as an occasional
tour guide, heritage attendant and / or as an historical dramatist. Experience
is not necessary.
Training may include a ‘Welcome Host’ day course,
from Tourist Board Qualified Trainers, plus hands on preparation
for Minster Heritage Tour Guides and Heritage Attendants. Successfully
trained volunteers will work with visitors and / or groups on busy
days or just on special occasions. Volunteer’s
availability will always be respected.
*Volunteer drama groups or talented individuals are
needed to prepare and/or take part in short
dramatisations illustrating our human-interest stories . These
could be for audio
or video presentations and/or ‘live’ for special
occasions.
Please let us know immediately if you wish to be invited
onto an introductory tour. Complete and post the form below or
email the information. A mutually convenient
date for the initial ‘Minster Heritage Tour’ experience
will then be arranged followed by a training timetable.
If you would like to be invited to an introductory tour of Dewsbury
Minster, with a view to considering volunteer guide & attendant
training and.or historical drama work, please fill in the form
