Before you leave, please pray for us, as we continue the mission and ministry of God’s Church in this town and surrounding communities, which began when St. Paulinus baptised 3000, preached and celebrated on or near the holy site of our Minster Church almost 1400 years ago

Calling all knitters – Christmas Angels

We are looking for people who can knit a Christmas Angel (please get your pattern from Liz Cash).   If you can and would like to help we plan to distribute Christmas Angels with a message of hope around the shops and businesses in Dewsbury between ‪10th -24th December‬ and then invite those who have an angel to bring it back to church on Christmas Eve to our Christingle services as we prepare for our Christmas celebrations.
Please speak to Liz Cash for more details‬‬‬‬‬‬

Christmas Tree Festival planned for Advent

Sponsors wanted in return for Free Advertising to supply, install, and decorate a Christmas Tree for display during Advent (3rd to 24th Dec), Imagination, and appropriate display to celebrate the coming of Christ, will be judged by the organiser.

Contact Janet Howarth or Dianne Mansfield to book a spot and make a commitment.

Minster Shop – As I won’t be at the Minster as much from 12th November I will be relinquishing my involvement with the Minster Shop.  We therefore need someone to take over these duties, which include checking over the displays and restocking on a weekly basis and ordering new stock when needed.   The shop brings much needed income into the Team each year so this invitation is open to members of all three churches. If you think this challenge is for you speak to Jonathan Taylor in the first instance on 07856 720315

Prayer for Growth.

God of Mission,
Who alone brings growth to your Church,
Send your Holy Spirit
to give Vision to our planning,
Wisdom to our actions,
And power to our witness.

Help our Church to grow in numbers,
In spiritual commitment to You,
And in service to our local community,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen

Planned Giving

God promises to bless those who give.  If you already have an Orange Free Will Offering Envelope, please consider the amount you are currently giving and perhaps after prayerful thought, you might increase this, even if by only small amount.

If you do not currently have an Orange Envelope and regularly attend The Minster, please consider taking an Envelope and commit to giving whatever you can afford on a regular basis.

Please remember that even if you miss the odd Sunday, as this is a weekly Offering, it is encouraged that you put in an Envelope for the missing Sundays.  Some of you do just that!

It costs £250,000 a year to run this Parish, so that’s £1,322 for every person on the Electoral Roll.  £10 a week only adds up to £520 per year.

Please be sacrificial, generous and wherever possible in proportion to your Income.

If you are a UK Tax Payer, please use the GIFT AID scheme to maximise your giving

See Wardens  for further information.
